Bouncing back Gabriels RSA animate video, I present you yet another nicely done series of videos, this time about philosophers, sociologists, and other relevant intellectuals.
The School of Life is a company devoted to developing emotional intelligence through the help of culture. They produce a lot of interesting material, maybe not specially elaborated, but that are anyway nice introductions for a series of topics. I think they try to spread knowledge common sense.
I leave you one of their videos.
Enjoy!
Wow... I have something to watch tonight! Thanks, Claudia. Good bounce!
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit disturbing -but plausible- that we are in part products of the System in which we grow up. Although, I grew up in a non-capitalist country and most of the theory of Adorno does not apply, I would say that I have noticed this kind deep influence in other ways. I know this can be polemic, but I can say from my experience abroad that there are good traces of the System. For instance, those that makes for me fairly easy to oppose to -at least- the typical tricks to turn me into a consumer. Anyhow, I think that we would -and in fact we do- have some other distractions and alienation because our professions, for instance, which in a way are also part of the System. But I think this was already mentioned even by Marx.
